Google For the Newton

My brother turned me on to [LunaSuite], an older commercial internet suite for the Newton. The web browser is pretty awesome - when it's not crashing. The source has been [made public] but there doesn't seem to be a lot of work being done on it, which is unfortunate - LunaSuite has some features that [Courier] and NetHopper don't seem to have (though I'm by no means putting down either of those great applications).

If you want to use Google from your Newton, Google has been thoughtful enough to provide search interfaces customized for various handheld devices. Both http://www.google.com/palm and http://www.google.com/imode work well on a newton, with both the search box and results pages being formatted for handheld devices. If Froogle and Google News were available for wireless/handheld devices I'd be a pretty happy camper.

I'm considering moving the blog to another hosting service and weblog API, and after some playing around with LunaSuite and other things one factor in that decision is going to be wether or not I can easily offer a "lite" version of the blog for handheld users and bots/scrapers. The RSS feed located at http://quellish.blogspot.com/rss/quellish.xml is good enough for a lot of things, but not everything.
